The 2nd Youth Academic Forum on Neural Dynamics and Control was held in Xi'an from August 7 to 10, 2026. The forum was hosted by Xi'an Jiaotong University (School Of Aerospace Engineering), and co-organized by Chang'an University, Shaanxi Normal University, Changzhou University, and Xi'an University of Science and Technology. More than 150 experts, scholars, and graduate students from universities and research institutions across China attended the forum and conducted in-depth exchanges on frontier issues in the field of neural dynamics and control.

The forum focused on topics including neural system dynamics, brain network modeling and modulation, intelligent control and neural engineering, brain-computer interfaces and medical applications, among others. It aimed to promote deep interdisciplinary integration among neuroscience, dynamics, control science, artificial intelligence, and medical engineering, and to build an open, active, and high-level academic exchange platform for young scholars.

On the morning of August 8, the forum officially opened. The opening ceremony was chaired by Associate Professor Wang Rong of Xi'an Jiaotong University. Subsequently,plenary lectures were deliveredby invited experts and scholars, chaired by Professor Wu Ying. Professor Zhou Changsong, Director of the Centre for Nonlinear Studies, the Institute of Computational and Theoretical Studies, and the Life Sciences Imaging Centre at Hong Kong Baptist University, and Professor Gu Huaguang of Tongji University delivered invited talks, sharing their latest insights on topics such as reproducible and interpretable brain-behavior association research, and neural dynamics research paradigms that tightly integrate experimentation, modeling, and analysis. Experts and scholars from Xi'an Jiaotong University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Beihang University, Jiangsu University, and other institutions exchanged views on topics including neurodegenerative diseases, dynamical modeling of brain disorders, brain-computer interfaces, neural signal analysis, and brain networks and higher-order networks.

On August 9, the forumfeaturedgraduate student academic presentations. Young researchers presented their research progress in areas such as brain network modeling, neuron-astrocyte interactions, neural disease mechanisms, and brain-inspired navigation. The discussions were thorough and lively. After the presentations, an award ceremony was held for outstanding graduate student presentations. Wang Yifei of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Song Caihong of Tongji University, and He Chang of University of Science and Technology Beijing received the Outstanding Graduate Student Presentation Award. Associate Professor Song Zigen of Tongji University presented the awards to the winning students.During the forum, participants also engaged in open discussions on topics such as interdisciplinary collaboration, theoretical methods, technological applications, and future cooperation. They expressed that research in neural dynamics and control is continuously expanding its boundaries of integration with brain science, artificial intelligence, neural engineering, and medicine, and that it is necessary to further strengthen multidisciplinary collaboration and pursue sustained exploration oriented toward major scientific questions and national strategic needs.
