The 3rd Electromagneto-fluid Dynamics Symposium & Working Meeting of the CSME Electromagneto-fluid Dynamics Professional Group was held in Xi’an from November 21 to 23. The event was organized by the Fluid Mechanics Committee of the Chinese Society of Mechanics and hosted by the School of Aerospace Engineering of Xi’an Jiaotong University and the National Key Laboratory of Structural Strength and Life for Major Equipment in Complex Service Environments.Chaired by Professor Zhang Jie from the host school, the symposium included opening addresses by Professor Wan Minping, head of the professional group from Southern University of Science and Technology, and Professor Lu Tongqing, Vice Dean of the School of Aerospace Engineering at Xi’an Jiaotong University.

The conference featured plenary reports, invited talks, and poster presentations, attracting over 70 researchers and students from more than 30 institutions, including Peking University, the Institute of Mechanics and the Institute of Plasma Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Shanghai Astronomical Observatory.The program consisted of 2 plenary reports, 9 invited talks, and 11 conference presentations, with active discussions on theoretical frontiers and applied progress in electromagneto-fluid dynamics. Plenary lectures were delivered by Researcher Kong Dali, Director of the Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, and Professor Li Fengchen from Tianjin University. A total of 23 posters were displayed during the poster session.

The symposium provided a platform for experts, scholars, and graduate students in the field to exchange ideas, explore disciplinary developments, and promote innovation and collaboration in electromagneto-fluid dynamics.
